I hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the weather we have been having!!

Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend! That means Memorial Day Murph will be Monday! Be sure to check out the schedule on FitChalk because we will be changing things up for the weekend.

No Open Gym on Saturday and Monday will be Open Gym from 9-noon for Murph!

 

Some upcoming dates:

 

Sunday, May 20 @ 3pm will be the first meeting of te Birmingham Chapter of Faith Rx’d. This week’s meeting will be at J19 in Hoover.

 

Saturday, June 9th is our Member Appreciation party!

 

Saturday, July 21st is the Summer Barbell Bash! Save the date. Registration will open shortly!

 

Final week of our Deadlift cycle is upon us! I have to be honest, I really wanted to do “Team Linda” for Thursday but just couldn’t bring myself to program 30 heavy deadlits on Monday and 55 heavy deadlifts on Thursday! I’ll save that one for another week!

 

Don’t forget to get your student-athlete signed up for our Athlete Development Program. We have a strong showing from softball players and wrestlers and only have a few spots left! Don’t forget to tell you friends too! This is open to everyone!

Here’s the week’s programming (Check daily for Project Vigilante work!)

 

Monday:

Deadlift day!

We’ll jog a little and swing some Ruskie kettlebells to get the heart rate up!

 

Tuesday:

We’re going to be working on a clean complex for the strength and a 12 min AMRAP of pull, push and squat!

 

Wednesday:

Back squat day!

We’re going to be working on our skills with a EMOTM. The goal here is to go unbroken!

 

Team Thursday is back!

Well I wanted to do Team Linda, but that wouldn’t be very smart, but we’re still going to bench!

 

 

Friday:

I’ve got 2 10 minute EMOTM with some rest in between. We’ll work on our snatching and overhead squats while dealing with a high heart rate! Should be a good one!
