What is Coach thinking…

My maternal Grandfather on the far left with his company out of the 69th infantry after they liberated France from the German army. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of my paternal Grandfather from his service.

No long story today, just a thank you.

My Father before he retired from the reserves

It’s Veteran’s day, and as I sit her getting sorer from yesterday’s Hero WOD “Emily” I can’t help but feel grateful for the ability to write to you all today from the safety of my home.

Thank you to all of you that have served, there are too many to list! Thank you Coach Matt and Tapanga for your service today!

Service is near and dear to my heart and although I have not served, the military has taught me a great deal through both Grandfathers, my Father, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Your sacrifice (and your spouse’s sacrifice) is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Here’s what’s on tap this week:

Monday: It’s bulking season! And of course, Monday is international chest day! Let’s bench! While we won’t be doing 45 min on the elliptical, we need to breath heavy a little! Rx and RX+ are pretty different today, but either way they will get you breathing hard!

Tuesday: Well I found this mainsite workout and really like it! So let’s give it a go! It’s snatch day! Coaches will spend a good bit of time with you on the snatch prior to the workout.

Wednesday: We’ve got a little rowing for the skill today and the WOD is a gymnastic EMOTM. Drilling some movements we may very well see in the Open!

Team Thursday: We’re ‘kicking it old school’ and going with a Fight Gone Bad style workout where you and your partner will alternate going thru 4 minutes of work while the other helps keep up with your reps! Be strategic and figure out where YOU can get the most reps and captalize on your strengths! Legs are going to feel this one!

Friday: It’s the end of the week and it’s time to “clean up the place”. I suspect legs are going to be pretty smoked from Thursday’s workout so we’re sticking to a power clean complex and then an AMRAP. How many rounds can you get before time runs out?

**Don’t forget to use the cleaning spray and towels to wipe down your equipment after the workout! We are getting into cold and flu season (and every season is Staph season!) and let’s try to keep the germs out of the gym as much as possible! Last year was a record year for texts/emails to the coaches saying “I’m not quitting, I’ve just been sick. I hope to be back next week!”
