What do you enjoy most about your time at CFC?

I really don’t know how to narrow this down to just one thing.

To start with the coaches and people are just all really amazing individuals. It doesn’t matter what class you go to or what level you’re at, everyone is helpful, supportive, and extremely encouraging. Also, it’s not just about physical health, but emotional and spiritual as well. I don’t know where else I could go to workout at 5:30 in the morning and also end up having a discussion about prioritizing time and making sure that I’m as consistent spending time in prayer and reading my Bible as I am at coming to the gym. In addition to all of this, I absolutely love the workouts. Being able to walk out of the gym after a workout, knowing that I pushed myself and gave it everything just makes me feel good about myself and sets it up for an awesome rest of the day.

What’s your motivation to be in the gym on a daily basis?

A year ago I weighed over 400 lbs, had heart problems, type II diabetes, and simply getting dressed for work could sometimes leave me short of breath. After getting my nutrition in check, I lost a good bit of weight and got to the point where I was able to start working out some, which helped me lose even more. A year ago I couldn’t have dreamed of being where I am now, 263 lbs, off of all medication, and out actually enjoying my life. I’ve come too far to fail, and I’m never going back to where I was.

What’s your goal for the next 6 months?

To be able to knock out toes 2 bar, strict pull-ups, and double unders!
