Motivational Monday! Mac Dean

I’ve long looked up to Mac (insert rimshot here) for his consistent dedication to showing up at the 5:30am class! Occasionally he brings in Bailey to distract us from lifts and enjoy some puppy breath! Mac has made a ton of strides and gainz over the past year and we’re looking forward to seeing what he has up his sleeve! Just don’t ask for a high five!

What do you enjoy most about your time at CrossFit Chelsea?

It has to be the fellowship and the sense of family.  I started my CrossFit journey at another gym and ended up leaving because of the lack of fellowship.  So I feel at home now and truly enjoy suffering with like-minded individuals.
What’s your motivation to be in the gym on a daily basis?  What keeps you coming back?
I usually attend the 5:30AM class so getting motivated to roll out of bed can be a challenge.  However, I find that once I finish the workout, the rest of my day tends to be easier.  I keep coming back for the challenge, I haven’t found another workout method or style that causes me to dig as deep or work as long as CrossFit.
 
What’s your goal for the next 6 months?
To be efficient with double-unders.
To move from kipping to butterfly pull ups.
To build strength in all major lifts.
